A Night at the Races: Benefiting the Second Mile Center of Detroit

The 3rd Annual "Night at The Races" benefitting the Second Mile Center of Detroit will fully embrace the Derby experience, featuring games, prizes, pizza, beer, and racing themed entertainment.

Patron Admission includes entry and one beer. VIP Admission includes entry, two drink tickets, and a souvenir glass to take home.

Doors open at 5:30pm. Pizza will be served for dinner. Beer and snacks available all night. We'll have horse racing games and an auction. Dress to impress - prizes will be awarded for best hat (woman) and best dressed (man).

Your ticket purchase will show up as LAKESHORECHURCH on your statement. Lake Shore Church is a partner of the Second Mile Center and handling the registration process for this event. All proceeds from tickets and this event are exclusively for Second Mile Center.

Summer Camp 2026

We are so excited to head to Michindoh from Wednesday, 7/29/2026 through Sunday, 8/2/2026 for our annual summer camp experience. We can't wait to enjoy a week in God's creation worshipping together and growing in our faith. This year, we will explore how God wants us to use our words. Words are incredibly powerful and we will be learning how we can build others up and glorify God with our words.

We can't wait to spend time together at the waterfront playing on the inflatables, relaxing at the beach or flying down the waterslide. We will have some great group games and free time to explore nature, fly 9-square or gaga ball or try our hand at fishing.

For those interested, there will be the opportunity to zipline or challenge yourselves on the high ropes course.

Register today to secure your spot. The cost of camp varies by experience chose and includes all meals, lodging, transportation, activities and programming. Pricing for each experience and required deposits are as follows:

Summer Camp - $320 ($50 deposit to reserve your spot)
Summer Camp w/Zipline - $325 ($55 deposit to reserve your spot)
Summer Camp w/High Ropes - $335 ($65 deposit to reserve your spot)

Please register as soon as possible to hold your place. If you are applying for the Summer Camp Grant, registration, your grant application and deposit are all due by 4/15/2026. Grant applications will be submitted as once package to the grantor.
